Don’t forget the Famous Cabbage Diet

Cabbage is a popular cultivar of the species Brassica oleracea and is a green leafy vegetable; distinguished by a short stem upon which is crowded a mass of leaves.  Usually green but some varieties are red or purple.

Cabbage is widely used throughout Europe and is an excellent source of vitamin C.   Cabbage contains significant amounts of glutamine, an amino acid that has anti-inflammatory properties. In Europe folk medicine, cabbage leaves are used to treat acute inflammation. . Cabbage is a source of indole-3-carbinol, a chemical that boosts DNA repair in cells and appears to block the growth of cancer cells.

Cabbage can also be included in dieting programs as it is a low calorie food.

With this diet you can shed up to 10 pounds in a week.  It does not take much time to prepare this soup and you will see the benefits in just one short week. This diet will help the digestive system; regulate the stomach and the large intestine metabolism.

Cabbage soup recipe:

1 cabbage head
6 small onions
2 green peppers
6-12 tomatoes
celery
spices- pepper, curry, dill, basil

Cut everything in pieces and put in to pot with 1 liter of water.  Cook this for thirty minutes then add another two liters of water and cook until soft.

Day 1

Eat your cabbage soup and fruits except bananas.

Day 2

Eat cabbage soup and vegetables steamed or raw. Do not eat corn, beans or peas or fruits. It’s best to eat green vegetables. For supper you can have 2 baked potatoes with no salt.

Day 3

Eat cabbage soup with fruits and vegetables. No banana or potato

Day 4

Eat cabbage soup, 3 bananas you can drink low fat milk

Day 5

Eat cabbage soup beef and tomatoes. You can eat up to 1lb meat and 6 tomatoes. Beef can be replaced by turkey, chicken breast or low fat fish. Meat has to be cooked or baked with no oil.

Day 6

Eat cabbage soup and beef (fish, turkey, chicken breast baked or cooked) with green vegetable

Day 7

Cabbage soup, vegetable and cooked brown rice. You can have vegetable juice and water.
